Contextual Studies (Week 06-Lecture)

Today is week 06.

In the last week our homework were brainstorming our storyline, find a preferred template for our storyboard and find idea/research/references for our storyboard.

This week (Week 06) until Week 09 we were given some homework by Miss Yen Hui.

2. Design Statement (Scripts & Scenes)

3. Planning of your story - How to make it more interesting - How to tell your story

4. Confirmation of script (Due next week - tutorial)

5. Visualisation of your scripts using your selected template

7. Week 09 - Submission Week

From Design Statement to Script

• Design Statement write-up (emphasizing key terms)

• Keywords: Transform into concept *scenes

• Idea: What is your objective or intention?

• Concept: In what manner do you plan to execute it?

From Script to Storyboard

• Script : A written plan or blueprint

• Storyboard: a sequence of drawings

• Dialogue: actions conveyed through spoken words

• Writing: equivalent to drawing

• Conveying the narrative, point of view, or concepts through cinematographic and artistic techniques with aesthetic preferences

• What techniques can be utilized?

• What does aesthetic mean?

About "Shot"

1. Bird's-eye shot

Task for this week:

1. Complete Task 02 on a template (Slides)

2. The quantity should be 5-10 pages (6-10 boxes on a page)

3. Arrange the sequence (Numbering)

4. Add information (shots, panel, music, sounds)

5. Choice of fonts, style technique...etc
